Seared lion’s mane

Sliced thick and seared, lion’s mane has a tender, seafood-like bite.

Fresh lion's mane mushrooms in a mixed harvest box.

Ingredients

  • 1 lion’s mane mushroom, sliced into steaks
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Optional: fresh herbs

Steps

  1. Slice the lion’s mane into 1 cm steaks.
  2. Heat butter and oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear slices until deeply golden on each side.
  4. Season and serve simply.

Keep it simple — lion’s mane shines with just butter and salt.
